Swimming tournament - 2025
We're delighted to announce that our school has won the Overall Championship in the Chennai District Interschool Swimming Tournament! This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our talented swimmers and coaches. A huge congratulations to Jitesh M of Class VII, Bhavesh Raghav of Class VIII, who also won individual championships and all the students who participated and contributed to this amazing feat! Your passion and sportsmanship have made our school proud.
Founder's Day - 2025
Our school commemorated Founder's Day on the 22nd of November, with a spectacular celebration, showcasing the talents of our students. The event featured captivating performances of "Alice in Wonderland" and "Night at the Museum", which demonstrated the creativity, skill, and dedication of our students. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the students, teachers, and organizers who contributed to the success of this event. Your hard work and commitment are truly commendable. We also thank our esteemed guests and parents for their presence and support, making this celebration a memorable one.
CBSE Students AI workshop - 2025
CBSE conducted a special five-day YouTube Live Session Series on “Empowering Students with AI” designed for students of classes XI and XII who want to understand how AI affects their learning and their future. These sessions explained AI in simple and fun ways, with examples students can relate to from using AI in school projects and creative writing to exploring how it is used in games, art, and real-world problem-solving. Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), this programme aims to help students become confident and responsible users of AI. It encourages curiosity, creativity, and care in how technology is used in education and beyond. The training was conducted from 27 October to 31 October 2025, with live sessions every day from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM .
CANSTOP Marathon - 2025
CAN-STOP (Cancer Support Therapy to Overcome Pain) is an outreach programme conducted by the Sundaram Medical Foundation and Dr. Rangarajan Memorial Hospital. The students of class 11, both from Sir Mutha School and Lady Andal Open School came together to participate in a marathon event to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote the importance of breast cancer examination. The event was a huge success with activities to encourage the students and other citizens who had the commitment to participate in the marathon. The CAN-STOP event came to an end with the students completing their marathon in 40 minutes showing their determination with each step.
Kolam workshop - 2025
The Interact Club recently organized a kolam workshop, where students gathered to learn the art of traditional Indian kolam designs . The event aimed to promote cultural heritage and creativity. Students created intricate kolam patterns using chalk and learned about the significance of kolam in Indian culture. The workshop encouraged teamwork, creativity, and an appreciation for traditional art forms. students had a fun and cultural way to bond and learn together.
Diwali Celebration - 2025
Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school! The classrooms were decorated with beautiful rangolis, lanterns, and twinkling lights. Students dressed in traditional attire celebrated with friends and teachers. The highlight of the day was the teachers' puppet show . Our teachers brought puppets to life, narrating an exciting Diwali story about the victory of light over darkness. The kids laughed and enjoyed the show, learning about the true spirit of Diwali. The Interact Club of our school celebrated Diwali with a heartwarming event at SHANTI SADAN. The students put up a delightful puppet show for the elderly residents who were overjoyed with the performance and appreciated the students' efforts. After the show, the club members distributed sweets to the seniors, bringing smiles to their faces. The students also interacted with the residents, learning about their life experiences and sharing their own Diwali stories. It was a meaningful celebration, spreading light and happiness in the community! It was a day filled with joy, learning, and celebration!
Saraswathi pooja & Navratri Celebration at Prem Vihar - 2025
Navratri was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on the 24th of September, 2025, at the Prem Vihar Conference Hall. The beautifully arranged Golu display added to the festive atmosphere, and the traditional Saraswati Puja was conducted to invoke the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge. The students of The Madras Seva Sadan sang soulful bhajans, filling the hall with a serene and spiritual ambience. The celebration was attended by the staff from all the institutions of The Madras Seva Sadan, making it a truly unifying and memorable occasion.
Navratri Celebration - 2025
Our school recently celebrated Navratri with great enthusiasm and joy. Students and teachers came dressed in colourful ethnic attire, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of India. The celebration brought the entire school community together in a festive spirit. It was a memorable occasion that offered students a meaningful experience of our country’s cultural diversity and traditions.
Best Teacher Award - 2025
A proud moment for our school—Mrs Kalpana B, Head of the Tamil Department, has received the Best Teacher Award 2025 at the West Chennai Sahodaya Cluster Schools event, held on 16th September 2025 at MCC Public School, Chetput. This esteemed recognition highlights her unwavering dedication, exemplary teaching standards, and outstanding contribution to the field of education. The school management, staff, and pupils take immense pride in her achievement and extend their warmest congratulations on this well-deserved honour.
Parents’ Meeting on NCC CATC Camp - 2025
A parents’ meeting for the allotted NCC cadets was held on 16th September 2025 at 10 a.m. in the school library. Col. Rajesh Kumar, Officer Commanding 1(TN) R&V Sqn NCC, addressed the gathering. The meeting briefed parents about the upcoming CATC Camp from 7th Oct to 16th Oct 2025 at Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology, Sholinganallur. Discussions included cadets’ uniform, safety measures, and camp routine. The importance of discipline, training exposure, and food arrangements during the camp were also highlighted. The session proved very useful as it clarified parents’ queries, built confidence in the camp arrangements, and emphasized the valuable learning opportunities for cadets.
TRAUMA MANAGEMENT AND CPR TEACHERS WORKSHOP - 2025
Our school hosted an inspiring Lifesaving Workshop by our alumnus Mr. Tarun Murugesh, President of the Rashtriya Life Saving Society (India), Tamil Nadu Branch. The session, conducted exclusively for our teachers, equipped them with vital lifesaving skills and safety awareness, which will also be shared with our students. We are proud to welcome back our alumnus and thank him for this impactful training.

Padma Bhushan Interschool Sports Meet - 2025
On August 20, 21, and 22, Sir Mutha School proudly hosted the Padma Bhushan Lady Andal Memorial Inter-School Sports Tournament and Swimming Meet, which showcased the sporting prowess of students in Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Cricket and Swimming. Ms. Gajalakshmi, Physical Directress of The Madras Seva Sadan Higher Secondary School, graced the Valedictory Function as the Chief Guest and presented certificates and medals to the winners.
Independence Day Celebration - 2025
The Independence Day celebrations at our school commenced with a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony, led by our esteemed MYP Coordinator, Ms. Kirtida Kale. This momentous occasion was a joint celebration of Sir Mutha School, Lady Andal School, Lady Andal House of Children, and The Madras Seva Sadan Higher Secondary School, reflecting our shared spirit of unity, patriotism, and pride in our nation's heritage. Capacity Building Program on Active Learning - 2025
Capacity Building Program on Active Learning Sir Mutha School conducted a Capacity Building Program on Active Learning on 9th August 2025, designed to empower educators with innovative and engaging teaching strategies. The day began with registration, followed by a warm welcome address, invocation, and felicitation. Session 1 – Active Learning Unveiled: Embracing Meaningful Engagement – set the tone for the program. After a short tea break, Session 2 focused on Engaging Strategies for Active Learning. Following the lunch break, Session 3 guided participants in Designing an Effective Active Learning Activity Plan. Session 4 offered a Hands-on Experience, allowing educators to apply the concepts discussed. The program concluded with participant feedback and a heartfelt vote of thanks. This initiative provided teachers with valuable insights and practical tools, reinforcing the school’s commitment to continuous professional growth and innovative classroom practices.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET - 2025
The Annual Sports meet of Sir Mutha School, Lady Andal school and Lady Andal House of Children, held on 24th July, at the University Union Grounds, Chetpet, was a spirited celebration of athleticism, unity, and school pride. The day began with a vibrant March Past, setting the tone for what followed — three striking drill displays themed ‘Roots of Resilience’, ‘Celebrating Uniqueness’, and ‘One Nation – Many Beats’. Each performance brought its own energy and message, blending strength with creativity and rhythm. The Chief Guest Mr. K.S. Vishwanathan, Managing Director of Chennai Super Kings, inspired the students with his words of encouragement. Cheers filled the air during the Victory March Past and Prize Distribution, with Emerald House proudly taking home the title of Overall Champions.
The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony - 2025
The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on July 11th, commemorating the 147th birth anniversary of our Founder Justice Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao. The Chief Guest Ms.Kamala Priya, an alumna of Lady Andal School and founder of House of Miraa, shared her remarkable journey pioneering India’s first adaptive clothing line for children with special needs. Her vision for inclusivity and thoughtful design deeply resonated with the school’s values. Top scorers in the 10th and 12th board examinations and various classes were honoured for their achievements. The event celebrated academic excellence and motivated students to practise consistent effort, discipline in studying, and a dedication to continuous learning.
The 7th edition of the Sir Mutha MUN conference - 2025
The 7th edition of the Sir Mutha MUN conference was held on June 27th, an academic simulation of the United Nations where students roleplay as diplomats, debating and negotiating on global issues. Ms.Kirtida Khale, MYP coordinator of Lady Andal School was the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony. In her speech, she highlighted the theme “Breaking Barriers,” encouraging delegates to overcome obstacles, find resolutions and debate fiercely.
Yoga Day - Maths and yoga intergration - 2025
On International Yoga day our Students performed mandala yoga integrating Maths and Yoga. Mandala Yoga combines movement, symmetry, breath and mindfulness. Mathematics, especially geometry, meets mandalas naturally because both celebrate patterns, balance and harmony.This fusion of maths and mindful movement not only deepens conceptual learning but also enhances focus, balance and creativity, making mathematics feel alive, visual and joyful.

Environment Day - 2025
Classes 1-3 celebrated Environment Day with enthusiasm! Activities included learning the 3Rs, storytelling, leaf printing, eco-themed math mazes, and action songs. Students also created 'Say No to Plastic' wristbands, promoting sustainability and environmental awareness."
